First Day of School

James begins a new chapter in his life... he is officially starting school. He is attending Butterfly Christian Preschool a half day program on M,W,F. He seemed to take it really well and here it is at 11:30 in the morning and I haven't gotten a phone call about him crying or anything so I think he might like it.

Even though I am very pregnant, we thought it would be a great family day to go to the San Antonio Zoo. It was about 105 degrees but we were prepared with water and set out early in the morning. James had such a great time, he was the perfect age and so interested in all the different animals. Yes, it was crazy hot but the zoo did a great job of creating lots of shady spots so it was bearable. Afterwards we decided to check out the Riverwalk for lunch and again, James was a great sport. A terrific way to spend the day. We all had a great time!

July 4th

Our neighborhood has a 4th of July parade every year. Okay so it is actually about 10 decorated cars, a fire truck and lots of candy but James had a great time at his first parade and the best part was that we didn't have to fight any crowds for the good seats.

Memorial Day weekend

The beginning of summer fun!!! We had a great time with the Turpins on Memorial Day. Jack showed James how to play in the kiddie pool and James showed him how to eat almost a whole bowl of cheesy poofs... We had a great day with our kiddos and here are the pics!

What we've been up to...

So with this post comes the wonderful news that we are expecting a little GIRL!! We're very excited and can't wait to meet this new little bundle. In the mean time, here are some pics from what James has been up to recently.

And some much needed R&R for a growing boy. He is a light sleeper so it is tough to catch him asleep. On this day though he was out like a light!

Pre-Easter Family Fun

The YMCA had an Easter Egg Hunt and Family Fun Day. James did not get to really participate in the hunt part but he did have a great time playing on the playground and hanging out with his buddy Jack. Here are pics from the day (once again, thank you Kristen for all the great shots! What would I do without my personal photog?!)

This year in the bluebonnets

The bluebonnets are out in full effect this year! An AMAZING display, but a toddler is not as easy to wrangle as a 3 month old so the pictures aren't quite as great as last year. James was a good model though and we had a few gems.

St. Patty's Day

Since we think both Steve and I have a little Irish in us we feel it is our duty to celebrate St. Patrick's Day, by, at the very least, wearing green. Here is James sporting his "Kiss Me, I'm Cute" shirt for St. Patty's Day.

Oldies But Goodies

Better late than never right? These are from the superbowl. Granted James isn't quite wearing the right attire (he is wearing a Texan's jersey). However we didn't have an Arizona or Pittsburg jersey so we improvised and had balloons with with the right colors.

What will I do without Kristen to take and send me pics of my little man every week. Today was our last playgroup for a while. We loved this group and hope to meet up with some of the other mommas outside of the group in the future. Anyway, here are the pics of the week

I think all the people who are reading this blog might already know but I will make it official. We are expecting another little bundle of joy. James will have a brother or sister arriving in October. It is still fairly early in the pregnancy, but things seem to be going well so far. We'll be finding out at week 20 so I'll be sure to let everyone know. Love to you all!

Its been a while...!!!!

This past year just got out of control towards the end of the year with the holidays and everything so I stopped posting for a while. But hopefully I'll be back to posting at least once a week. We'll start catching up with a major milestone- his first birthday. We had a "construction themed" party due to our house being under rennovation. The kids all had aprons from Lowes (aka Tool Belts) with tools in them and "hard hats" which most of the kids had no interest in wearing- although the adults seemed to like wearing them. It turned out to be great fun! Here are some of the pics:
