Long overdue pictures
Here are pictures of James and myself taken at Picture People. I finally figured out how to scan pictures to my computer. There are more that I still need to scan (from when he was 4 months old) but here is a sampling of some pics taken.

James says a word!
Well on his 9 month birthday, James understood his first concept word (other than DA DA DA DA DA still no MA MA MA MA). I flipped on the light in his room and he understood that the switch turned on the light so I started saying "LIGHT" to him and by the third time he pointed and said something that sounded like light (I'm pretty sure that we are the only ones who understand it though). Now he goes around the house pointing up and saying light and trying to flip every switch he sees on the wall.
I think that word is very special. As all of you who read this blog, my father passed away 3 weeks ago. We are just devastated and he is missed so much. In a spiritual way, I believe that my dad's light is shining down on us and I think it is appropriate for James' first word to be light.
These are long over due but here are pictures from our trip to the pumpkin patch in Marble Falls. It was a really sunny and hot day so there are very few that don't have him squinting but here are a few of the hundreds we took.

James at the park
I was going through an old camera bag of Steve's and found some black and white film that had expired more than 5 years ago. I really wanted to see if the film would still work so I used Steve's super awesome old school (non digital) camera to take some pics and here is what came out. Most of these are of James at the playground, but a few of them are at the house with Tyson. I think they came out well but there are some that I wish were in color... oh well here they are...
Climbing...
Peek-a- boo!

On the swing

Everything goes in the mouth these days, needless to say sitting in the wood chips lasted just long enough to take a picture
The look on Tyson's face... we are so lucky to have a dog who takes the abuse.
This is one of my favorite pictures, aside from the terrible background. We are renovating our house and living in the middle of it all.

A memorial to James' Great Grandmother
James' great grandmother, Patricia Read Heath, passed this morning. She was a very special woman and someone I cared deeply about. She was very strong and vibrant, playing golf up to a year ago before officially retiring from the sport. I am so thankful for the time that James had to spend with her while she was alive and her memory will live on with me forever.

Crawling... and standing... Really?!
I guess you could say we are both blessed and cursed. Who knew that we were going to have to start child proofing at the ripe old age of 6months. Oh well he sure is cute when he scoots!
I found my thumb! Yay, no more pacifier.

My baby is growing so fast!
Well here we are a couple of days before his 6 mo birthday. We got his high chair and we are all ready for tasting! We are trying out "Baby Led Weaning" a food introduction process that skips the purees and rice ceral and goes directly to food chunks. So far so good, just a little messy, but a very fun process to watch. His official first food was a peach. But we had to try the high chair out before the official tasting began so we came home, assembled it and strapped him in to see if he liked it... he loved his new chair.

Here are some pics in his new gym
"Here, let me show you around the gym..."
Trying out the new high chair. "I think it will do"
"Yep, I think these straps fit me just right"
Trying food"Well I'll put it in my mouth since I put everything in my mouth these days"
"mmmmm, I love it! Give me more!!"
Well after that James was covered in peach juice so I plopped him in the sink. He likes playing with the water hose.
"That was fun can we do it again soon?"

Bath Time take 2!
Well James has this bath stuff down now. He loves to be in his tub or in the pool. I've begun teaching him how to swim and we are going to take him to infant swim classes once he turns 6 months. But the bath is one of his favorite things.
Just kickin back and chillin in the tub.
ohhhh my favorite toy... the cup!
What do you mean it is time to get ou?! I am still playing with my cup!
I am cold and hungry and I hate this towel thing on my head. If you don't give me some food soon I am going to eat the camera!
I warned you! I am now going to eat the camera!
Okay, I'll settle for a finger.
